Vintage Wong Lee 1895 Chinoiserie Rococco Yellow & Blue Porcelain Ormolu Bronze Decorative Container

This sunny and stunning vintage Wong Lee 1895 porcelain 10” container features ornate ormolu-style banding and footing, a delicate blue play of Rococco / Chinoiserie floral scrollwork and playful putti on an intentionally crazed bright yellow ground, balanced on commanding lion paws crowned with majestic spread-winged eagles. Original stamp and sales labels on base.

Highly collectible contemporary porcelain objects often mistaken for true antiques, Wong Lee International was founded in 1995 and they began exporting in 1999. The commemorative makers mark of 1895 on the bottom of their objects has a commemorative meaning of the end of the war between China and Japan in 1895.
